Weight Training

Weight training is a crucial component of a successful fitness program, providing strength and tone to keep muscles at prime fat-burning levels. Fitness Together offers a two-pronged approach to weight training, combining elements of Functional Training and Strength Training.

Our integration of Functional Training concepts consists of exercises targeting the core muscles of the abdomen and lower back. Strengthening these muscles, in conjunction with a focus on balance, coordination and stabilization, has many benefits - primarily a strong body core, allowing you to tackle your daily activities more easily and without injuries.

Our Strength Training focuses on educating the client on proper lifting techniques using Full Range Contractions to strengthen the musculoskeletal system and has the additional benefits of preventing osteoporosis, muscle loss, and improving flexibility. Strength training improves one’s resting metabolic rate and blood pressure, decreases body fat, and improves gastrointestinal transit time, factors which are associated with diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

Our blending of these elements provides the most efficient and effective conditioning formula, which means faster results in less time. We also ensure variety within the formula, using Paramount Functional Trainer machines, free-weights, bodyweight, balls and bands, so you keep motivated. Your training programs at Fitness Together are always challenging and never boring!

Always remember that strength training and training for skill (i.e. bodybuilding) are two completely different things. When designing or assessing a training program, ask yourself: What is the goal? Is it time-efficient? Is it safe and is it delivering the desired results?
